Therapeutic Massage
What is Chinese massage?
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a complete healing system. Chinese massage is a key part of that healing system, along with acupunture, herbal medicine, nutrition and exercise.
Chinese massage works with the meridians and acupressure points of the body, assisting the healthy freeflow of energy (ch'i). Some recipients of Chinese massage find that in practice it feels like it incorporates the best of deep tissue massage, reflexology and myofacial therapy. The therapist uses hands, knees, legs and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches.
Many people enjoy chinese massage because it is so similar to the feeling one gains from Hatha yoga postures; muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure points are all used during treatment.
