FAQs

When can I start antenatal yoga?

You can start any time after you have reached 14 weeks and had your first scan.

What should I bring to the class?

All equipment in the form of mats, cushions, blocks and blankets are provided. You just need to turn up with or wearing comfortable loose clothing. Please also ensure you have a small bottle of water.

Do I need yoga experience?

No yoga expericence whatsoever is necessary to begin pregnancy yoga.

Can I start during the middle of a course?

You can start at any point during the course as long as there is space available.

As the courses are rolling, you will catch up on the lessons you missed at the start of the following term.

What happens at the end of the 14 week course?

Depending on your week count, and work obligations, you can either enrol for another term of pregnancy yoga with Nadia or you can graduate to her Birth Preparation classes.

What is a birth preperation class?

Unlike a pregnancy yoga class which supports the pregnant body through the second and third trimester, this class is designed specifically to support the mother through her last trimester and prepare her physically and emotionally for the impending birth. More workshop and discussion based, these classes cover subjects such as mapping the pelvis, perineal massage, dealing with post maturity and the use of water in labour.

Can I change to a morning class once I stop working?

As soon as you stop working you can transfer to the morning Birth Preperation class.

What happens if I need to miss a class?

BatterseaYoga's policy is to allow you to make up to two missed classes by dropping into another two additional classes that term. If you miss any more than two, it is your responisbility.

No classes can be carried over to the following term.

When can I start Mother and Baby Yoga?

We accept mummies back from four weeks. However if you have had a caesarean, you must wait until you have had your six week check up and have been okayed for exercise by your health worker/midwife/GP.

Can I bring my eight month baby to the class?

Yes. We accept babies from 12 weeks to one year old or walking - whichever comes first.
