Safari and Yoga Retreat!

10-20 Dec 2010

£950 shared twin room (excluding flights and park fees)

For a sneak preview of where we are going, and the game we are likely to see, watch this short video taken by a guest at Kapani Lodge:

I am truly delighted to offer this once-in-a-lifetime Yogic adventure; a 10-day yoga trip to Africa’s best eco-safari.

Kapani lodge is truly world-class, as is its location, game viewing and reputation. I will refrain from saying too much about the place and the people on this page. Simply visit their beautiful website to discover everything you want to know:

http://www.normancarrsafaris.com/cm/our_lodge_camps/kapani_lodge

On this trip, I will teach a Hatha yoga class and a meditation class each day (with one day rest in the middle). The classes will explore asana work in detail but also bioenergetic work, pranayama workshops, philosophical discussions and raja yoga inquiry. Classes will take place mostly on a covered deck close to the hippo lagoon. Naturally we will have to stay vigilant during classes as elephants, giraffe and other wild beasties can wander through the camp at any time.

The price includes: 8 nights twin room accommodation at Kapani, all meals, airport transfers in Mfuwe, morning game viewing activity, guiding, laundry and local taxes.

The price does not include: international and internal flights, any additional game drives you may want to organize, National park fees and bar drinks. It is also suggested that we spend the last night, before we fly back, at ‘Pioneer Camp’ in Lusaka ($125 sharing or $175 single pppn including airport transfers and meals)

Suffice to say that Battersea Yoga have been offered an extraordinary group discount on this trip. Norman Carr has a worldwide reputation and provides a world-class safari experience. If one were to arrange this trip individually, the price per night would be at least double what we are paying. Further, we will have exclusive use of the lodge and the trip will be limited to around 15 places. If you are keen to know more, it is essential that you register your interest ASAP as places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Simply email Gid at Kapani Lodge: kapani@normancarrsafaris.com

Gid, who manages the lodge with a team of around 60 staff, will gladly answer any questions you may have about costs, logistics, flights etc. She and her husband have many years experience at Norman Carr safaris. Initially a small deposit will be taken to hold your place. Once we have 12 students booked, the trip will be confirmed and flights reserved.

I hope you can join me for what promises to be Battersea Yoga's most extraordinary trip yet!
