Angus Ford-Robertson
Angus has been teaching Hatha yoga and meditation since 2001. His contemporary approach draws on many teachings and has been influenced by Scaravelli, Sivananda, Iyengar, Yin Yoga and more dynamic styles. He is indebted to a number of spiritual teachers, particularly Eckhart Tolle, Ajahn Sumedho, Donna Farhi, Fausto Dorelli and the late great Duncan McColl.
Angus is a qualified practicing Clinical Hypnotherapist and holds a Diploma with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. He is a Member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and specializes in the treatment of stress-related conditions.
Beyond yoga, motorbikes and exploring foreign lands, Angus' other loves include his partner Nadia, his two boys Rohan and Conor & his daughter Freya.

Nadia Raafat
Nadia's interest in yoga began with her training as a national rhythmic gymnast. She later trained in the Sivananda Hatha yoga tradition - and continues to learn and be inspired by many other teachings especially those of Iyengar and Scaravelli yoga, and more recently, Donna Farhi .
Nadia is also a qualified antenatal and postnatal yoga teacher having completed her basic and advanced Diplomas with Birthlight under the tutorship of the inspirational Dr. Francoise Freedman. She is also a fully trained and accredited Birthlight BabyYoga teacher. More recently she has completed her doula training with Liliana Lamis and Dr Michel Odent and is certified in Basic Hypnotherapy with the London School of Clincial Hypnotherapy (LCCH).
A mother of two boys, with a third on the way, she is passionate about natural childbirth education and supporting women, through yoga, into motherhood.

Mariette Williams
Mariette has been practicing yoga for the last 9 years, exploring a variety of styles, including Sivananda, Iyengar and Astanga. She has been taught by experienced teachers such as Faustomaria Dorelli, Ruth White and Radha.
Since leaving a city career in 2001, Mariette has built up a successful Reflexology business and continued to develop her yoga practice.  Her interest in yoga has evolved from the longing to learn for herself, to the desire to teach.
Mariette brings her own style and warmth to classes, drawing from her experience in yoga, dance and the classroom of life.

Helena Kay
Helena's interest in yoga began 15 years ago on her first trip to India and she has been practicing yoga ever since especially during her hectic career in the city.  In 2004, she took some time out to deepen her knowledge and trained with the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres in England, Canada and India and Birthlight (antenatal yoga) in London.  Since then Helena has been teaching in and around London. Helena’s passion and interest in yoga has also led her to train in alternative therapies including Thai Yoga Massage, Indian Head Massage and Reflexology.

Joe Cang
Has been studying Yoga for 20 years. Trained in Iyenga, Sivananda and Bihar schools of Yoga in both India and Canada, and with Fausto at London's Innergy Yoga centre where he has been teaching for 6 years.
His classes are focused on facilitatating personal experience of the practice through increased inner awareness.
As a professional singer and musician he is also proficient in Vedic chanting and mantra.

Lon Gibbons
Lon has been practicing yoga for the last 13 years and began teaching in 2001. She has explored many styles including Sivananda, Astanga, Vinyasa & Restorative Yoga but when she discovered Satyananda style yoga at Ashram Yoga in New Zealand she knew she had struck gold! Lon completed all levels of the Ashram Yoga teacher-training programme, including Antenatal & Postnatal Yoga, and is registered with the Yoga Alliance, RYT500. She returned to the UK in 2007 and has since trained as a Doula. She is passionate about preparing women for birth & supporting them at this time. Lon is also a qualified massage therapist, specializing in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage. Lon's teaching is firmly based in the Satyananda style where the breath guides the practice and leads to deep internal awareness. Lon will be covering Nadia's Intermediate Hatha classes, Birth Preparation classes and Postnatal yoga classes in her absence.

Lee Carter
Lee has been practicing hatha yoga for 20 years and became a full time teacher 8 years ago. Her inspiration for yoga came from Faustomaria and his 'Innergy' centre in W11. "He continues to be a great teacher to me." She did her teachers training with Sivananda and now teaches a very fluid style of yoga working with the basic hatha yoga postures and the breath to open and align the body and mind. Lee has been teaching pregnancy yoga for the last 3 years and feels passionate about yoga as a birth preparation programme: "I gave birth myself last year - all my practice and understanding of yoga totally supported me and allowed me to embrace the whole experience of pregnancy and labour with complete trust and openess, it has to be the best yoga practice ever!"
Lee will be covering Nadia's Beginners Class and pregnancy class in her absence.

Maria Raftery
Maria has been practicing yoga for a number of years and completed her teacher training in 2008. Following a glittering career in city banking, she has now embarked on a holistic life path! She is latest valuable addition to the Battersea Yoga team and we are delighted to have her working alongside us.
